It’s well made, but you’re definitely paying for that. It really should come with at least the cheese plate or t-bracket included, if not also the SSD mount. For the current price, it could be argued the LT and RT mount should also be included.
The reality exceeds expectations: I was amazed by the quality of this cage. It comes with the necessary plates to mount all the lenses available on the market. With the accessories I added to my order, the experience is even more complete, improving the feel and comfort while shooting. The compatibility and modularity allow it to be used on gimbals without any problems.
Very please with the Beastcage for iphone 11 Pro Max. Full of expansion threads, tight fit, secure locks and you'd never know it was a refurbished model. Looks brand new, and makes my iphone look like a video beast, hah, see what i did there?
I've used the BeastCage for about 2 months and it just works out of the box. I love the modularity and customization possible with this cage.

It’s been great so far and the Beastgrip equipment always comes through. Still working kinks out with other issues like monitors or the Blackmagic app. But we’re making great progress!
Sturdy case. A little difficult to swipe up the 17 Pro Max once it's inside the case, though.
Paired with the DJI RS5 great. Only wish the entire inside of the cage was lined in a soft material, not just the corners.

I came to Beastgrip after trying a few other alternatives to build a serious cinema ecosystem around my iPhone 17 Pro Max, none of which fully met my expectations. While there are many interesting ideas on the market, I kept running into the same issues: important compromises, closed ecosystems, products that never quite felt like real professional tools.., and others that were simply too close to being "toys". I discovered Beastgrip almost by accident. The overall first impression I got was that of a young, unconventional brand (almost with an outsider feel that I loved). Then the more I researched, the more solid everything looked. The reviews were strong, the demos convincing, and there were credible mentions of filmmakers actually using this gear in real-world productions. Even so, I placed my order with cautious optimism. I ended up ordering a BeastCage for iPhone 17 Pro Max, VND and CPL filters, external SSD mounts, a side mount, and filter adapters. From the very first interaction, the customer service experience was exceptional. Communication before the purchase was clear and responsive, shipping was fast, and the follow-up afterward felt genuinely personal—making sure everything arrived correctly and that I was satisfied. When the products arrived, the reaction was immediate. The build quality is simply insane. Everything feels incredibly solid, precise, and confidence-inspiring—built like a tank. Honestly, the level of construction and finish goes beyond some professional accessories I regularly use with dedicated cinema and mirrorless cameras. The BeastCage itself is particularly impressive. It fits the iPhone perfectly and feels extremely well engineered. Even though it’s not a case (it obviously does not pretend to be one) and does add some bulk and weight, it’s so comfortable and well balanced that I just leave it on the phone anyway—it never feels like it’s in the way, and my iPhone is always ready for me to drop a filter on it or attach a handle. As I see it, Beastgrip’s own accessories are superb and should always be your first choice, but the standard threads and mounting options make it easy to integrate third-party gear. That openness is essential if you want to build a serious, scalable filmmaking rig rather than being locked into a closed ecosystem. Beastgrip genuinely surprised me. I expected good products, but I did not expect something this serious. I never thought an iPhone-based setup could feel this close to real cinema tools, yet here it is. If I have one regret, it’s not ordering even more from the start. In short: outstanding customer service, exceptional build quality, and a product ecosystem clearly designed by people who truly understand filmmaking and mobile cinema.
Among all the iPhone rigs I have used so far, Beastgrip is by far the best. The design that allows an external SSD to be mounted directly onto the rig is truly outstanding. It not only improves workflow efficiency but also provides an exceptional level of stability and confidence during shooting.

What I was looking for in an iPhone 17 Pro Max rig: - Rigid enough to hold configuration without flex or shift - Precise machining so accessories mount properly every time - Balanced ergonomics for extended handheld use - True modular system (not random parts forced together) - Build quality that survives real production environments - Fast, repeatable setup without guesswork The Beastcage for iPhone 17 Pro Max delivers on all of these. I've tried a few different iPhone cages (Tilta, Smallrig, and Neewer) and accessories, and Beastcage is the first one that actually feels like real camera hardware instead of phone accessories. The difference is rigidity. Once everything is mounted, nothing flexes, nothing shifts, and nothing feels improvised. You set it up once and it stays that way. I stopped thinking about the rig and started thinking about filming — which is really the whole point of setting up a rig. The machining and fit are excellent. Mounts line up properly, accessories seat cleanly, and there's no "close enough" feel anywhere. It's solid in the hand and balanced, even with handles, mic, SSD, and hub attached. I've used plenty of rigs where things technically work but always feel a little fragile — this doesn't. What surprised me most: the accessories actually feel designed as a system. Everything integrates cleanly without weird workarounds or extra plates. Once you dial in a configuration, it's repeatable. You can take it apart, put it back together, and it behaves the same way. This isn't the cheapest option, but it's the first setup that made me stop shopping for alternatives. It feels like the difference between consumer support gear and professional hardware. I'm taking this to Nepal and India for a 6-week documentary shoot starting in January 2026. This is exactly the kind of gear I wanted especially when it's difficult to have a backup plan (difficult to lug around lots of gear) and no second chances. Stop researching. I’ll admit, I approached the BeastCage with some hesitation. As someone who already owns multiple iPhone rigs, I initially assumed this system offered limited expandability and that its minimalist design would restrict how extensively I could build out a mobile setup. I couldn’t have been more mistaken. In practice, the BeastCage’s simplicity is its greatest strength. Its precision-machined frame, clean mounting options, and thoughtful ergonomics made it remarkably easy to assemble a fully functional mobile rig—faster and more efficiently than with any of my more complex alternatives. What looked modest on the surface turned out to be incredibly well-designed for real-world production use, especially when speed, stability, and reliability matter. The BeastCage has quickly earned a place in my mobile cinematography toolkit, proving that smart, streamlined engineering often outperforms bulkier, more complicated systems.
The beast grip cages are by far the best I have had two cages from the Kronos ecosystem by Tilta (they are like toys compared to the beast cage and they both failed and I already had one beast grip cage so I took it on the chin and just bought another beast cage and I’m happy as can be. It’s like a rock thank you beast cage for having the best service support and products in the market no competition. I’ve had the small rig cage and the newer brand they’re all garbage and I’m being very nice but the beast cage does not disappoint and their service and support is excellent. Keep up the good work beast cage you guys are the best.

Cage feels and looks great. Surprised by the size difference compared to my XS Max version! It’s a pity the L-brackets aren’t a seperate purchase so I used my kiwi-ingenuity and fashioned some L-brackets from Bunnings and etched them up. I'm not buying extra side handles that I don’t need… shopping was pricey too - $60 NZD! Kiwis beware.. other than that, it’s a solid product!

The Beastcage is definitely a must have. While the Beastrig is great, the cage definitely save you time when and real-estate when it comes to setting up and tearing down your rig.
Holds the phone beautifully and the buttons are firm and reliable - i use the side grip and the handle CH50 for stability and an anamorphic lens. The unit is solid and i can see microphone mount in my future.
So far I really LOVE the new BeastCage for the 16 Pro Max! The design, functionality, & weight are fantastic. I recently used it to take photos of the lunar conjunction while equipped with the 1.7x telephoto lens. I also have a few Reeflex lenses that can be used with the supplied 17mm mount plates. The 1.7x telephoto is the best I’ve used. I haven’t had much time to use the cage since receiving it, but I love the way it feels and functions. I use mine with the CH-50 handle for a good grip. The Cage also allows the use a screen protector on my iPhone without any issues. I have two iPhones, both are the 16 Pro Max and I might get another cage for the other soon. BeastGrip makes the best products with the highest quality I’ve used. I don’t have photos of the BeastCage yet, I’ll have to update later. My primary use for the cage & 1.7x & 0.75x is general photography, portraits, landscape, astronomy. I don’t shoot & edit videos yet, I’ll have to learn. Thanks BeastGrip!! I love your product.
I love this cage! It fits the phone perfectly and the camera control button is perfect for launching the camera app. I handed my rigged out phone to my 7 year old cousins to film their own “movie” and felt relieved that my phone was protected, haha. A couple very small gripes. The volume control buttons are not very sensitive, so I generally adjust volume via control center on the phone. I also have the sdd mount which is nice but a bit small. I bought the larger Small Grip battery mount for rail clips and swapped it out for the Beastgrip one so I could mount an usb-c battery. It leaves room behind the ssd mount to Velcro a small ssd drive. I swap between charging and the drive regularly while out filming for a long time. I highly recommend Beastgrip lenses as well. I have the 1.7x tele, and the quality of the photos and video is insane! So, moving forward, I hope Beastgrip fixes the volume buttons and adds a slightly larger clamp for its ssd mount.
