Tee Ken Ng and Tim Minchin recently released one of the most impressive #shotoniphone music videos we've ever seen for the single "Leaving LA". Before we get into how it was made, check it out for yourself and see if you can guess:

Behind the scenes

A video this creative needs a behind the scenes and Tee Ken Ng doesn't disappoint.

The film was made by first recording the actors. Then each frame was printed out, physically cut, and placed in a custom made zoetropes (an invention from 1833 used to spin images on a carousel to create animation) and recorded again.

It took over a year of hard work to complete and is one of the most mind-boggling things that you can watch - it almost looks fake. See details and a conversation on why the creators took this approach in their behind the scenes video below:

Conclusion

Just when you think you've seen it all, something like this comes along and reminds you that there's no limit to how creative you can get. Next time you're working on a project, take a step back and challenge yourself to try something you never have before. BG
