Beastgrip 77mm Diopter Filter: Enhance Close-Ups with Anamorphic & Telephoto Lenses

Introducing All-New Beastgrip Pro Series 77mm Close-Up Filter.

We’re excited to announce the release of our new 77mm Close-up filter, crafted by Kenko Tokina in Japan. These diopters allow you to get closer to your subject than ever before when using our 1.33x and 1.55x anamorphic lenses, as well as the 1.7x telephoto lens. 77mm Close-Up filter comes with 62-77mm adapter ring for attaching it to our lenses.

With the 1.7x telephoto lens, the diopter reduces the minimum focus distance to approximately 7 inches while maintaining a usable range of up to 2.5 feet. For the 1.33x and 1.55x anamorphic lenses, the minimum focus distance shortens to about 1 foot, with a focus range extending up to 2–2.5 feet. This enhancement provides greater versatility for your filmmaking setups, enabling more creative and precise close-up shots.

When paired with telephoto lenses, they shorten the focus distance and create a beautifully shallow depth of field, producing striking visual separation between the subject and background. It’s an essential tool for filmmakers looking to push the boundaries of their creativity.

Close-Up Filter + Anamorphic Lenses

Diopters are widely used in professional filmmaking, particularly with anamorphic lenses, which often have limited close-focus capabilities. Now, we’re bringing this powerful tool to the smartphone filmmaking world, unlocking more creative possibilities—especially when shooting with anamorphic lenses. These diopters also subtly enhance the depth of field, helping to separate your subject from the background for a more dramatic effect.

These diopters can also be used on their own with our Beastcages one the main camera by combining a 37mm to 58mm step-up ring with a 58mm to 77mm step-up ring. While they’re not designed for extreme macro shots, they allow you to achieve closer focus with the main camera. This adds another dimension to your shot composition, making it easier to capture intricate details up close.

Manufactured with a full aluminum body and high-quality glass, these 77mm diopters are built for professional use. They feature a standard 77mm thread, allowing you to attach additional filters using adapter rings if necessary.
