I specifically placed an order for this phone rig from the US, and it’s almost identical to the structure shown in the photos. What’s even better is that it’s completely CNC-machined from aluminum alloy.
The rear circular locking knob is practically perfect! Unlike standard plastic phone mounts, it gives you a precise sense of tactile feedback and absolute security during use. The handgrip portion balances the center of gravity—once you get used to it, shooting becomes exceptionally stable. I hope to build a professional setup for commercial shoots with it, just like everyone else.
I’m currently using an iPhone 11 with an Asian-market protective case and screen protector, and the mount doesn't interfere with the display at all. You can really tell this was thoughtfully engineered. :)
I really like the build quality of the Beastclamp! It's a bit wide and covers part of the camera button on my iPhone 17 Pro but it's not an issue. I definitely prefer it over the Ulanzi mount.
This product really exceeded my expectations. It is very nicely machined with smooth anodized surfaces. The knurled grip is solid, weighty and feels secure to hold. The locking knob is powerful, securely holding the phone in place with little effort. I attached the grip to the handle, and a 1/4" eyelet (for wrist strap) with locktite. Everything fits together perfectly. My phone is an iPhone 16 Pro Max which is easily accommodated by the grip. I definitely recommend this product to everyone.
The Beastclamp is amazing! It is easy to use, I can easily attach a light to the top. It is very well made, there is a great weight and I feel to the clamp and handle. I feel my phone is safely “mounted” in the beastclamp!
I recently upgraded my iPhone because I was interested in taking advantage of the video quality of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. That led to my exploring the market for accessories to help better stabilize the phone when holding it by hand and that led to a purchase of the Beastgrip Pro that is currently offered through Beastgrip.
I already had another brand of device that was designed like the Beastclamp Plus, only the Beastclamp Plus is much higher quality. In fact, everything I have purchased from Beastgrip feels like pro-level gear. So I purchased the Beastclamp Plus in addition to the Beastgrip Pro and now I have an additional grip that can be screwed into the Beastgrip Pro for greater stabilization than even what it already offers.
The two images included with this review show the heavy duty nature of the Beastclamp Plus and that it will handle the larger smartphones in larger cases. The image shows the iPhone 15 Pro Max in an OtterBox Defender case.
This is the first phone clamp that I've used that gives confidence that it won't fail. I love the fact that the clamp plus handle, when put down on a level surface, elevate the phone. Also, I think that one could use a neck strap with the clamp by screwing D-Rings into two of the three 1/4"-20s on the base of the clamp.
When I plug my phone, it a bit sleepy keep on moving after tightening it, but, with my phone case on. That’s only complaint I have.then it works perfectly. Very nice to handle with your hands.
I am using the Beastclamp rig with the new iPhone 15 pro. It is adaptable with some short comings. (My main camera is a Blackmagic Pocket 6K pro with cages, shoulder rigs, follow focus rails etc.) so I am very familiar with rigging. An external ssd is a must with the iPhone 15 pro, no horizontal mounting soultion available. Also the usb-c port on the phone is blocked by the right side handle upright. I have placed a shim in the clamp to add enough spacing to not stress the port on the phone. I would like to see a re-design of the right angle nato rail to move the phone towards the operator and provide correct clearance for the input port on the phone. Also I'd like to see an SSD (Samsung T-7/ T-7 Shield) mounting option off the nato rail as well (sit it behind and parellel to the phone in between the clamp and the nato vertical) I know that Smallrig has a solution that accomplishes all this, but I prefer the modular approach of Beastclamp's solution. I am currently mounting my SSD on a small rig holder bolted into the top of the handle, but it is nit the preferred mounting position.
I already use the modular Beastgrip Pro, but this smaller setup is magic - lightweight, uncluttered and very transportable; just throw it in the backpack. The new clamp is a 'dream' compared to some of the others out there. Thanks again Beastgrip!
OMG! I have been using camera and phone rigs for many years and never thought they would get more professional. Well Beastgrip proved that they in fact DO get more professional! I absolutely love the beast clamp especially for the build quality and ease of use. I depend on it now every day when shooting video and photography. Frankly, I am quite disappointed with my new BEASTCLAMP Plus (BGR182-CP). I had high expectations, but honestly the device does not firmly grip my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G phone in an Otter Box Defender case. A slight knock or push on phone rotates it out of the clamp. (1) The gripping arms are deep enough to capture the full case, but lack any bent "lip" on the ends to insure a sense of safety against phone rotation. (2) The rubberized grippers have a flat sloped shape which only make a line contact with the case. Consequently it takes great care to align the phone with the grips and even then it is rather easily wobbled loose. The line contact simply does not have enough contact area/ friction to be firm and does not produce enough inward force to hold the phone firmly. (3) The Otterbox case has a shallow ridge, all along its front (camera) side edges. The ridge contacts the BEASTCLAMP's rubberized flat back pad. Consequently the case's back side never makes full flat contact with the back pad, which also contributes to the easy wobble and insertion frustration. This could be corrected by making the clamp's back pad a little narrower so it does not contact the phone case edge ridge at all, allowing the rest of the pad to make a flat contact with the case. (4) The nice bright red handle wobbles (both static and when turned), which significantly degrades from the expected sense of quality. (5) There should be a warning to not turn the red knob too tightly - only a light clockwise snug is needed. Since the phone is never gripped firmly, there is a natural tendency to over-tighten the knob, which of course does not resolve anything. The counterclockwise opening motion only needs a relatively small partial turn to release the phone, so there is no need to hard "lock" it open. This should be mentioned in the instructions.
There are multiple, seemingly simple ways in which all these issues could be addressed. Grip arms with a safety lip, resize the back pad, and better instructions are obvious. Interchangeable side pads designed for large area contact with popular cases would be a game changer. I cannot understand why this clamp gets such favorable, non-critical reviews.

We appreciate your feedback. Just to clarify: the BEASTCLAMP Plus is designed to hold smartphones, not oversized rugged cases like the OtterBox Defender. There’s a clear limit to what fits safely, and unfortunately, your case exceeds that limit. Issues like wobbling or poor grip aren’t a flaw in the clamp they’re a result of trying to fit something it wasn’t designed to hold.
For future reference, if there’s any doubt about fit, a quick email to us before purchase will save a lot of frustration.
Unfortunately, the clamp is not so deep that I can hold my iPhone 15 Pro Max with case and the installed Fjorden-Grip, but that is of course not the fault of the clamp, which is excellently worked in a brilliant quality and is wonderful if you don't have a grip installed 😉
It doesn’t hole the phone with a case properly or with just the phone it’s self no matter how tight I squeeze the clap together with the phone in and fighting the knob the phone is still able to slip out already broke a lens cause of this

This works perfectly it’s small, the phone stays like a rock in it. The grip is really comfortable. I bought it for travelling.
