The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S22 has arrived! Its impressive characteristics and design will definitely impress a lot of Android fans. Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra just hit the market. Our biggest interest is the new S22 Ultra as we find it to be the best one for mobile filmmaking in this lineup.

The new Samsung S22 Ultra comes with a quad-camera that's based on a 108MP Nonapixel main unit and has two telephotos (3x and 10x) and an ultrawide unit with autofocus, which remains exclusive to the S22 Ultra and S21 Ultra. The primary camera has new processing tricks up its sleeve and is able to blend 12MP images with full-res ones for improvement in both light capture and detail. It's otherwise essentially the same hardware - a 1/1.33" sensor with 0.8µm pixels behind a stabilized lens with an f/1.8 aperture. The ultrawide is also unchanged. A 1/2.55" sensor with 1.4µm pixels and an f/2.2 aperture lens covers a 120-degree field of view. New upgraded screen, fast processor, and great cameras will serve well for all mobile filmmaking fans.

But the main question is the Beastgrip Pro and our lenses.

New Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a new design and compared to the previous models doesn’t have that big camera bump. Instead, you have separate camera modules.

This new design makes this phone fit into the Beastgrip Pro perfectly. That translates into better performance with external optics. If you want a universal rig that will allow you to use different lenses then you will benefit from using our Beastgrip Pro.

Now let's talk about lenses.

Our main goal was to test our Pro Series 0.75x Wide Angle, 1.33x Anamorphic, 1.55x Anamorphic, and 2x Telephoto lenses and DOF MK2 adapter and see how they perform on Galaxys main camera in video mode.

To make it as simple as possible we used a native camera app and only for the DOF MK2 adapter we used FiLMiC Pro to get the proper orientation of the image.

For both 1.33x and 1.55x Anamorphic lenses, we used the native camera app. The de-squeeze was done in the post-editing to get the proper aspect ratio. We also tested our Anamorphic and 2x Telephoto lenses on Galaxy's 3X tele-camera and you can see the results at the end of the video. Please keep in mind lenses perform the best when used on the main camera but you can also use them on a telephoto camera and it's just another way to be creative.
