Phoneographers rejoice; Cai Lan Gong is almost here! In case you haven’t heard (read our earlier blog post here), this is the first full-length film shot entirely on Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and 5 4K smartphones and a few accessories, including the original Beastgrip!

Cai Lan Gong is an Indonesian horror film about an ancient ritual that summons spirits into a homemade doll - gone horribly wrong. It takes place in Indonesia and is sure to leave chills down your spine. It will be released in over 25 theaters on October 22nd, but in the meantime you can check out the official trailer on YouTube here.

Derryl Imanalie, a 22-year-old producer of the film, hopes to inspire the creative youth around the world with his innovative use of new smartphone technology. When asked about why they chose the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and 5 phones over other choices like the iPhone or Android, they argued that the 4K picture quality and fast wireless charging made production easier. They used the Beastgrip (as seen in pictures) to set up their Galaxy Note 4 and 5 camera rigs with lenses, microphones, stabilizers, etc. to get the perfect shot.
