There has been a massive buzz around this video since it was released on Vevo on March 10, and it is well-deserved. Not only is this Olivia Wilde's debut as a director, and a monumental moment for phoneography, but it's most importantly a beautiful portrayal of the artistry of Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zero's song No Love Like Yours. Set in the city of New Orleans, the video shows Alex Ebert, or 'Edwarde Sharpe,' attending his own funeral - which if you know anything about New Orleans funerals, is not the typical quiet, preacher/speech/crying affair.

Still shot from the video

The video was brought to life by the amazingly talented team of Reed Morano ASC as the Cinematographer and A Camera operator, David Darg as the B Camera Operator, Nicalena Iolvino as the C Camera Operator and Stash Slionski both as the Technical Advisor/Gear Consultant for the phones and rigs and an additional Camera Operator. Thanks to Reed's Assistant, Dani Girdwood, there are tons of great behind the scenes shots, capturing the brilliance and creativity of the shoot.

The film-like quality was achieved with the Beastgrip DOF Adapter, and the rest of the rig consisted of a mCam case, and Red Rock Micro and EdelKrone Pocket Rig lens supports. Stash Slionski, who's worked on many high-profile gigs like the Olympics and with artists like Justin Timberlake and U2, said in response to a question about if he would use a similar rig in more projects, "...in daylight, the iPhone can hold it's own with a lot of the rigs out there, it shoots 4K! I would [use it on another project]." We are thrilled to see the future of phoneography unfold and for more professional filmmakers to continue incorporating smartphones into their productions.
